Our Story In 2022, Universal Supply Group was acquired by Daikin Comfort Technologies North America. This strategic move aligns with Daikin's goal to become the top provider of HVAC solutions in North America, and USG is proud to contribute to this success. As a leading full-line distributor, USG offers a diverse range of HVAC products, including Residential Unitary Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brand equipment, as well as other brands and products. Since 1940 The company's history dates back to the summer of 1940, when Heinz Hildebrandt and William Voorhis founded Universal Engineering Co. Initially, their goal was to manufacture oil burners, but due to World War II shortages, they shifted their focus to repairing and fabricating burners. Over the next five years, their business developed, becoming a trusted supply and repair facility. In 1945, they built their first Universal shop at 344 Wagaraw Road in Hawthorne, New Jersey. Expansion and Growth Over the decades, Universal Supply Group, Inc. expanded to include new locations and product lines. Notably, the addition of HVAC equipment in 1986 significantly broadened their offerings. As customer needs and local markets evolved, so did the company's inventory, now proudly featuring a complete line of products and services for HVAC contractors in New Jersey and the New York Metro area.
