Founded in 1992, EFM, Inc. began doing business as Mixon Heating and Air, which was established and incorporated in April 1993. Six years later, we changed our company name to Alabama Cooling & Heating. EFM, Inc. is a privately held corporation that is locally owned and operated. We are proud to serve our community with the highest level of expertise and professionalism, backed by our designations as Fujitsu Elite, Trane Comfort Specialist, and Rheem Pro Contractor.

Negative: The company was unreliable, sent children to do the work, and overcharged for services. They were also unprofessional in their customer service.

Unreliable Service

Wendella Tucker and Jimmy Shaw both had a terrible experience with the service provider. Wendella mentioned that the service providers sent children to do the work, which resulted in a poor job. They used duct tape to hold up the ducts, and the customer service representative, Alicia, was rude and unprofessional. Jimmy Shaw reported being overcharged for the R-22 freon, claiming that he was charged $375 for 3.5 pounds of the substance, which he believed was a scam.

Good Service

On the other hand, Mandy Smith had a positive experience with the service provider. Her unit stopped cooling properly, but a technician, Gene, was quickly dispatched to her home. Gene found that her unit was infested with wasps and was able to get it back up and running quickly.
